Horse Mania 2010 Horses

This horse is painted in acrylics to depict a globe. Lexington and its current sister cities – Newmarket, Shinhidaka, Deauville and County Kildare – are depicted through maps collaged on the horse. Artist Pat Lawrence had the help of granddaughter Tyler Nelson, an art major at UK, in creating Sister Cities. Lawrence works primarily in watercolor, although also works in acrylic. She does commission work, public art and has shown in various venues throughout Lexington.
