Pike, admired for its beauty, inspired Kathy Rees Johnson’s horse. The two-sided
Paris Pike reveals a lovely pastoral scene and a world-renowned horse
farm with its stone retaining wall. The beautiful lines of the highway illuminate
the topography as the tallest buildings of Lexington peek over the horizon.
Johnson studied design at University of Cincinnati and has a BA in Art History
from the University of Kentucky. She participated in LexArts’ Horse Mania
(2000).
