 |
Kentucky's Power celebrates the renewable energy sources being developed in our region, including the work being done by the Center for Renewable and Alternative Fuel Energy at Eastern Kentucky University. The horse showcases pastoral scenes, and is covered by natural reed, woven in a traditional Appalachian plait. Embedded in the scenery, one finds fields of Switch grass – the material being transformed into fuel. Kentucky’s Power is rooted in tradition while galloping into the future. The work is a collaboration between EKU art professor Herb Goodman and student Lisa Tyler.
