 |
Day Star was inspired by the artist’s
recent trip to Egypt, where the symbol of the sun is a common theme in the
ancient ruins. Dan Neil Barnes and his assistant Philip Rodriguez have cut
a sunburst design in the fiberglass body of the horse and inserted stained
glass. The horse is lit from within, creating a unique luminosity. Barnes’
work in metal, glass and wood has been exhibited extensively throughout the
United States.
